Beacons vs Linktree: Which One Suits How You Work?
In the Beacons vs Linktree comparison, the deciding question is usually how you plan to earn. Both put your links behind one address. Beacons puts more emphasis on selling and email tools. Linktree is the more familiar brand, with a tiered approach to commerce and analytics. Neither is simply better, so it’s worth working out the numbers for your own situation.
We make BioFlow, a separate tool, so we’re not neutral in the wider market. This comparison is based on the two vendors’ own pages, read on 2 November 2026. We haven’t tested which one gets more clicks. Plans and fees change, so confirm everything before you decide.

Where they’re alike
Both tools:
- Give you a single page with several links.
- Offer a free way to start.
- Have paid plans that add features.
- Offer some way to earn from your page.
- Sit on their own domain by default, with your username added.
If you just need a few links on a page, either will probably do. Your decision then comes down to which interface you prefer, and that’s a good reason to try them both.
Where they differ
Selling
Beacons’ pricing page says that you can sell unlimited digital products from the free plan, with a 9% seller fee on the Free and Creator plans, and 0% on the two higher plans.
Linktree reserves selling for Pro and Premium, and only in certain countries, according to its help centre. Each sale carries a percentage for Linktree, set by your plan, and a Stripe charge that it lists as typically 2.9% plus $0.30. We couldn’t find the percentage itself on the pages we read, so check your plan’s details.
Payment-processing fees may apply on either tool, so check those too.
Email capture
Beacons’ page lists email sends, with a limit on its lower plans and unlimited sends on its higher plans, and it mentions collecting email addresses and phone numbers. Linktree’s help centre also covers collecting emails and phone numbers. It describes marketing integrations on its Premium tier. Compare exactly what each one includes on the plan you’d actually buy.
Integrations
Linktree’s pricing page lists marketing integrations and commerce on higher tiers. Beacons includes many tools within its own product. Which works better depends on whether you want one all-in-one tool, or a page that connects to tools you already use. Check that any specific service you rely on is supported.
Design
Both offer themes and customisation, and some options are reserved for paid plans. Linktree’s pricing page lists expanded appearance controls on Starter, and removing Linktree branding on Premium. Check where branding removal sits on each one, if that matters to you.
Pricing and fees
Linktree’s prices vary by region and are shown in local currency on its site, so we can’t give you one figure that would apply everywhere. Beacons listed its plans in US dollars when we checked.
Here’s a simple way to compare them. It uses made-up numbers, and only covers the seller fee:
| Monthly sales | 9% seller fee | Fee as a monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| $100 | $9 | Less than most paid plans |
| $500 | $45 | More than a $30 plan |
| $2,000 | $180 | Much more than a $30 plan |
So on Beacons’ published numbers, a higher plan can start to make sense as sales grow. Run the same sum for Linktree using the fee for your plan, and include processing fees for both.
Pick by how you earn
| How you earn | Lean towards | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Mostly affiliate links and brand deals | Either | Analytics and branding on the free plan |
| Selling digital products from the page | Compare both | Your country, seller fees, payouts |
| Building an email list and sending from one tool | Beacons | Email limits on your plan |
| Using other email or commerce tools | Linktree | Integrations on your plan |
| Selling elsewhere, needing a simple hub | Either | Free plan limits |
| Not earning yet | Either free plan | Ease of use |
Whichever you pick, you can change your mind later. It’s mainly a matter of updating your links and exporting what you can.
A third option note
If your main need is something else, you may want to look further. We build BioFlow, which sits alongside CommentLink’s Instagram automation. It has a contact form, gated downloads and a Leads inbox, but no built-in checkout, email sending or custom domains, so it isn’t a like-for-like replacement for either tool’s selling features. If you’re also comparing automation tools, those are covered in our roundup of Instagram automation tools for creators.
FAQ
Is Beacons better than Linktree?
Neither is better for everyone. Beacons’ published plans emphasise selling and email, while Linktree is a very familiar format with commerce and analytics on higher tiers. Decide what you need the page to do, then compare the specific plan you’d buy. Trying both free plans with your real content is the best test.
Which is cheaper?
It depends on your region, your plan and your sales. Linktree’s prices vary by region, while Beacons’ page listed plans in US dollars. Don’t forget seller fees and processing fees, which can matter more than subscriptions if you sell a lot. Work it out with your likely monthly sales.
Can I switch later?
Yes. Your link in bio is just an address on your profile, so you can point it somewhere else. Build the new page first, export what you can, update your profiles and keep the old page live for a while, because older posts and printed materials may still use it.
Do the sum, then try both
Estimate your monthly sales, work out the fees on each plan, and test both free versions with your real links. An hour of this will tell you more about Beacons vs Linktree than any comparison can. If neither fits, you can compare with BioFlow too.
