How to Add Links to Your Threads Profile (and When One Page Is Better)

The Threads bio link is a separate setting from your Instagram one, even though the two apps are closely tied. That catches people out when they update a link in one app and expect the other to change. This short guide covers how to add links to your Threads profile, and when one shared page makes more sense than a list of separate links.

Adding links to your Threads profile

Threads changes quickly, and we couldn’t read its help page when writing this on 2 November 2026. Here’s what we could find.

TechCrunch reported in May 2025 that Threads had added support for up to five profile links, along with tools for tracking clicks. The report didn’t give step-by-step instructions, and at least one vendor’s guide still says Threads allows one link, so it’s worth checking in your own app.

The route is usually as follows:

  1. Open your Threads profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Look for the Link or Links field.
  4. Add your address and any title it asks for.
  5. Save, then tap the link from your profile to test it.

If the screen looks different, trust what the app shows you.

Profile links or a single page?

If Threads gives you enough links, you may not need anything else.

Use profile links if… Use a single page if…
You have a handful of destinations You want the same list across several platforms
Each is self-explanatory Some options need explaining
You’re happy to update each app separately You’d prefer to update one place
You don’t need a form or download You want to collect enquiries or emails

Don’t add a page just because everyone else has one. A direct link is one tap shorter, and that’s worth having when you only have one destination.

Reading link clicks on Threads and on your page

TechCrunch’s report mentioned click tracking in Threads’ tools for creators. Check your own Insights to see what’s available on your account, because the feature may not appear everywhere.

If you do use a page, you’ll have a second set of numbers: Threads counts taps on the link in your profile, and your page tool counts arrivals on the page and clicks on each button. Those figures won’t match exactly, since each tool counts differently. Use Threads to see whether people tap at all. Use your page’s data to see what they do next.

Tagging your Threads link helps you separate those visitors from your Instagram ones. Our cross-platform guide shows how to do that, and it works the same way for YouTube.

Using the same page on Threads and Instagram

Using a single page across both apps has one clear benefit: you only need to update it once. A few tips if you do this:

  • Use a different tagged address for each app, so you can see which one sends visitors.
  • Keep your wording general, since some visitors come from each app.
  • Think about the audience. Threads conversations may need something different from what your Instagram followers want. If so, put the most relevant option first, or add a dedicated link.

If you’re deciding how to use each channel, broadcast channels and DM automation covers another option for reaching your Instagram audience.

FAQ

How do I add a link to my Threads profile?

Open your profile, tap Edit profile and look for the link field. Add your address, save it and test it. Threads changes quite often, and we couldn’t read its help page, so if your screen looks different, follow what the app shows or check Threads’ current help.

How many profile links can I add?

TechCrunch reported in May 2025 that Threads allowed up to five. Some vendor guides still say one, so sources conflict, and we couldn’t confirm the current limit from Threads itself. Open Edit profile to see what your own account offers, because that’s the answer that matters.

Should it match my Instagram link?

Only if the same destination suits both audiences. A shared page saves you time, but a tagged address for each app lets you compare them. If your Threads audience wants something different, link them directly to it. Remember to update both, as a change in one app may not carry over.

Check it in the app

Open Edit profile and see how many links Threads offers you. If a shared page sounds useful, you can use one page for both profiles, and CommentLink for creators covers the wider toolset.

Share one page across both apps

Use one BioFlow page, with a separately tagged address for Threads and Instagram.
