How do I create an Instagram comment automation?
Create an Instagram comment automation on Posts & Reels with triggers, Comment Auto Reply, DMs, and Save.
Instagram comment automations are configured on a specific post or Reel under Posts & Reels. One post can have one linked automation (custom or from an Automation Template).
Before you start
- Instagram connected in Channels
- Post or Reel visible in Posts & Reels
Open Posts & Reels
Go to Posts & Reels and open the post or Reel.
Choose triggers
Select Keywords, All Comments, or other available trigger options. Add Trigger Keywords and optional exclude keywords. Use Send Once if each person should only get the automation once.
Set public reply and DM behavior
Enable Comment Auto Reply if you want a public comment reply. Configure DM messages unless you turn on No DMs (Only Comment Auto Reply).
Optional features
Enable Follow-Gated DM, Email Collector, or other toggles shown on the form when you need them.
Save
Click Save (or Update if editing). The post shows as linked.
Limitations
- A post that already has a custom automation or another template cannot take a second one until you Unlink or Detach.
- Your own comments are typically ignored by the engine.
