Why didn’t someone receive my Instagram DM?
Missing Instagram DMs can come from No DMs mode, Follow Gate awaiting follow, messaging windows, rate limits, or Message Requests.
A public Comment Auto Reply can succeed while the private DM never arrives. Check mode toggles, Follow Gate, and Instagram delivery constraints.
If it doesn't work
Public reply yes, DM no
- Why it happens
- No DMs (Only Comment Auto Reply) is enabled, or DM templates are empty.
- How to check
- Post Detail toggles and message configuration.
- How to fix
- Turn off No DMs (Only Comment Auto Reply) and configure DM content, then Update.
Person stuck without content
- Why it happens
- Follow-Gated DM is waiting for follow + I'm following ✓.
- How to check
- Follow-Gated results for awaiting follow vs converted.
- How to fix
- Ask them to follow and tap the confirm button; see How Follow Gate Works.
Automation reports send but user sees nothing
- Why it happens
- Message Requests, messaging window limits, or rate/quota failures.
- How to check
- Ask them to check Message Requests; review Analytics Delivery / Error Health.
- How to fix
- Have them accept the request; reduce volume; fix errors shown in Analytics.
